5 Ways To De-Stress Right Now

Here are 5 stress relief tips you can use to stop feeling stressed out pretty quickly.  They will work for anyone, but are even more effective if you make a habit of using at least one every day.  Let me know what you think!

1. Start noticing your what your body is doing. Every hour or so, check in with yourself by scanning your body for pain, tightness and so on.  Is there a knot in your stomach?  Do feel stiff, heavy or lethargic?  Is your jaw or head hurting?  Once you become aware that there IS a problem, just take your attention there.  Pretend you are just curious, and don’t try to force it to go away.  The goal is to just “sit with” the feeling of discomfort, much like you would sit with a friend who came to you for help.  Begin to breathe a little more deeply, leaning into the problem area.  As you breathe in, imagine you are taking in relaxation & peace. When you breathe out, imagine letting go of stress, anxiety or pain.  Continue for at least 3 minutes, 5-7 minutes is even better.

How can we move out of pain and back to peace?

Today is a perfect example.  I woke up feeling crabby, and ended up spreading that around until it infected my husband too.  That snowballed into my getting triggered (emotionally) by some little comment he made,
which in turn put me on a slippery slope to feeling a pretty deep sadness, and heaviness on my heart.  Here I am, the Stress Free In 7 Minutes Girl, and I needed a lifeline, now!

Stress Free In 7 Minutes is designed to give you tools to lift you out of stress, get rid of negative thinking, manage emotional pain, or just help you when you are feeling stuck, and it’s designed to work in seven minutes or less.

This opening post is more of a declaration of my intention – in the future I’d like this blog to be a whole lot of useful posts, practical ways to make lives better, and most of all, uplifting and honest conversations that tap into the collective wisdom of people all over the planet who want to really live an authentic life – to be in every-day life, the highest and best expression of themselves they can possibly imagine.  I’d love for anyone reading this to be part of that conversation.
